the u.s. government is currently lobbying with help from universal and EMI to add a 75$ fee to your ipod that would in return pay the music industry for using the music whether it is legal or not. what are some thoughts?
Meh it doesn't bother me because with my EVO I don't even use my ipod anymore. Plus it dies the other day. So I'm ipod-less for now. But it would make sense for them to try and "make-up" for the so called millions the music industry has lost due to piracy.
F the fees... those are my thoughts
ReplyDeleteIsnt music Art?
Isnt there some law or something saying that art is public domain?
I could be wrong...
I believe that the gov't would probably shave off A LOT of that money to keep for themselves.
ReplyDeleteImpossible to fairly/properly distribute the 75 dollars. Fail idea.
ReplyDeleteThey should just implement the thing were you would pay a monthly fee to listen to all music. I would be soooo down for that.
ReplyDeletepretty dumb idea

ReplyDeleteIt will never pass, it is a frivolous attempt to gain more money. There are hundreds of these made every year and they very rarely are passed.
ReplyDeleteI don't think this will ever come into fruition. Just something for the music industry to erk listeners.
ReplyDelete@pft public domain art is when the copyright on the art is no longer existing which causes it inn return to be public domain
ReplyDelete@archon6 i totally agree with your statement.
mass riot
ReplyDeletePretty stupid ideea,imho.
ReplyDeletemy thoughts are the the gov't shouldn't have anything to do with hardware devices that I own.
ReplyDeletei own a zune so i couldn't care less what they do to ipod.
ReplyDeleteThat law what be ridiculous.
ReplyDeletePeople should support bands they like but i understand why people pirate. This fee however is rediculous
ReplyDeleteSo they're going to charge us to listen to music, even if we don't have any music on our ipods? I call that TYRANNY.
